Is just me that thought that Ginseng was a female for the first two books? Also does Shiver have asthma?

Redesign a bit my original ones for the trio, then retook the lineart i did to be like a base and simply do color for the other pandas, so we have Ghost, Rain, Leaf, Pebble, Sunset, Maple and Pepper

These are French creatures of the flood and river of secrets. The series seems to be named “the messengers of the dragon” instead of the usual bamboo/panda kingdom translation.

I think an Italian Creatures of the flood cover? Translates to “after the flood”

And then a German creatures of the flood that translates to “rushing tide”

After River of Secrets, decided to draw Sunset. Used triangles as pattern to represent sun rays… during a sunset lol.

I have two theories about Sunset, one being why he seems to be different from his past self, the other predicting what will happen in book 2.

Theory 1: Brother Swap Theory

From what I recall in the first book, Sunset had a brother named Dusk, to which he claimed has died during the flood. To me it seems weird that the timing of Dusk's visit with Sunset (To which Sunset said they had rarely done) the flood happened.

So what if Sunset's brother Dusk is actually impersonating Sunset. This would explain why "Sunset" was easily scammed by the monkeys when supposedly eating magic bamboo that would grant him dragon speaker powers. The real Sunset wouldn't have fallen for this scam, for he would know if his real powers were returned. Another thing to point out would be that if Dusk was impersonating Sunset he would have to bear a close resemblance to Sunset in order to fool the other panda's. So that means that the real Sunset died in the flood the same moment when the new dragon speakers were born, so that his powers could transfer.

Theory 2: Time Change Theory

This theory doesn't regard Sunset as much as it regards the encounter between him and Ghost. On the map the mountains where Ghost and his snow leopard family live is above the northern forest where Leaf lives. At the end of the first book Ghost encounters Sunset who is supposed to be in the southern forest withe the Prosperhill pandas. So how did Ghost get to the southern forest without crossing the raging river that the other character struggle to cross.

This would only make sense if Ghost and Sunset didn't meet in the southern forest, but the northern forest. So I wonder if Ghost's perspective is written in the past since he had no encounters with any other characters. It would also make sense that Sunset would be in the northern forest in the past before eventually crossing the river and meeting the Prosperhill pandas. So maybe in book 2, Ghost is helping Sunset from the shadows to which we could see the repetition of events in book 1 but from Ghost's perspective.

Fanart of Leaf and Rain

I tried to give Rain some rain-like freckles and a nick in her ear from her fight with Sunset. Whereas Leaf has leaf-like markings.

Idk if there already are pages for them, but it seems that Shiver at least should have a page because she's the most likely to reappear.
