Blossom, or Blossom Prosperhill, is a female panda residing in the Southern Forest.
Personality[]
- Blossom is an arrogant and rude panda who likes to tease Rain. According to Peony, Blossom's unfriendly demeanor is the result of not being used to living in a group, due to her being born prior to the flood.
- In River of Secrets Blossom is shown to tease Ghost for his struggles to adapt to panda lifestyle. As Sunset's co. adviser Blossom is shown to be to fiercely loyal to the former and obeys the Dragon-Speaker without question.
History[]
Creatures of the Flood[]
- When Rain is eating bamboo, Blossom attempts to steal some of the former's food. So, Rain confronts her neighbor on this. Rain argues that, because she got her paws on the bamboo stalks first, they are rightfully hers. Blossom, however, refuses to surrender the stalks back to Rain, as the former mockingly insists that they are now hers and reminds Rain that she is her elder as an excuse for her actions. Because Blossom did not receive permission from Rain to take the latter's food, Blossom's actions were still unacceptable to Rain. Blossom attempts to resolve the dispute by suggesting that Rain treks downhill to the lower slopes, where the other cubs are eating, claiming that there is plenty of bamboo there. Rain, however, despite there being plenty of bamboo, stubbornly refuses to accept Blossom's proposal, because the former did not want to give up her bamboo stalk, nor did she want to let Blossom win. Blossom and Rain are then interrupted by Pebble who states that the bamboo stalk was, in fact, Rain's, as she had picked it. Pebble informs Blossom that he saw her steal Rain's bamboo. Blossom's condescending smirk fades, but she still refuses to surrender Rain's cane, and clings on to it more tightly. Rain attempts to retrieve the cane by force, by attempting to yank it out of Blossom's grip causing the bamboo to snap in half. Even though Blossom still had the other half, Rain makes no further attempt to retrieve the rest of the cane, because Rain's piece had the juiciest leaves. Blossom criticizes Rain for being disrespectful, but Rain refuses to apologize for her actions and states that she does not respect Blossom at all. The cubs are immediately interrupted by Peony, who demands that Rain apologizes to Blossom. Rain refuses, stating that Blossom was in the wrong, and, therefore, did not deserve an apology. However, after Peony continues to insist that Rain apologize to Blossom, Rain reluctantly agrees. Afterwards, Peony claims that Rain needs to do a better job getting along with their neighbors. Rain argues that she gets along with the other pandas, using Pebble, Horizon, Frog, and Fir as examples. Rain reminds her mother that she would have had a better relationship with Blossom if the latter was not always harassing her. Although Peony agrees that Blossom could have behaved better, she suggests that Rain should cut Blossom some slack, as Blossom was not used to living with other pandas. Rain, however, argues that Blossom had the former's own lifetime to get used to their current lifestyle, while Peony defends her own claims by reminding her daughter that she had her lifetime to get used to Blossom. However, Rain could tell that she won the argument after Peony reminds her and Pebble that they have chores to do.
- Later, Blossom is selected by Sunset to set off on an expedition with Pebble and Rain to find any pandas that might have survived the great flood. They find Maple and bring the latter back to Prosperhill community.
River of Secrets[]
- After Ghost and Shiver construct their den of bamboo, Blossom begins chomping on it. Ghost tells Blossom to stop eating their den. Blossom refuses and imperiously tells Ghost that as his elder she is entitled to his respect. She comments Ghost and Shiver's den as a strange place to sleep before supposing that Ghost never learned how to be a "real panda".
- When Shiver tells Ghost that Sunset gave Ginseng and another panda the impression that Ghost is dangerous, Ghost mentally suggests that it was actually Blossom who came up with those claims and that Shiver only mistook her for Ginseng.
- When Plum is found dead, Blossom travels with Peony, Ghost and Sunset to investigate the crime scene. When Sunset claims that Shadowhunter is to blame for Plum's death, Blossom spits at the notion that a predator has killed Plum.
- Later Blossom and Cypress dig a pit under Sunset's orders. When Rain and Peony try to warn the other Prosperhill Pandas about Sunset, Blossom and the other pandas side with Sunset.
