Prosperhill Pandas (pl. Prosperhills) - were once a group of giant pandas that reside in the Southern Forest. Their territory consists of lush bamboo forests, the Feast Clearing, and the river's south bank. The group was formed after the Great Flood and were disbanded by Rain.

Description[]

The Prosperhill Pandas are the largest known group of giant pandas in the Bamboo Kingdom. They were formed shortly after the Great Flood as a result of a large number of displaced pandas and limited territory in the Southern Forest. Their territory consists of lush bamboo forests that provide the Prosperhills with an ample supply of food. Despite their peaceful lives and sufficient food supply, many Prosperhills remain selfish and territorial due to their new experience of sharing and living in a group. Like all pandas, the Prosperhills remain faithful to the Great Dragon despite the Great Flood and continue the tradition of the nine feasts. The Prosperhills also believed for a short period of time that they were the last remaining survivors of the Great Flood. To solve their social problems, the Prosperhills hoped for the river to recede to distribute the Northern Forest's large territory. Shortly after the arrival of Dusk Deepwood, the Prosperhills were convinced that there were other surviving pandas and started to send search parties to bring back refugees.

Territory[]

The name Prosperhill is derived from the lush bamboo forests that allow the Prosperhill Pandas to lead a prosperous life as well as the hilled landscape. Properhill is located in the Southern Forest and borders the river's south bank. Despite the abundance of bamboo, the territory is too small to encompass the large group of Prosperhill Pandas, thus leading to frequent squabbles and clashes between members. The terrain is uneven, filled with slopes and depressions whilst the bamboo forests provide a refreshing shade that colors the territory in various green hues. The close proximity of the river leads to many streams and pools surrounded by rocks that make great places for the Prosperhill Pandas to learn how to swim. Despite the fast-flowing currents and whirlpools of the river that prevent the Prosperhills from crossing it, when the water level receded a row of large stepping stones known as Egg Rocks were exposed and allowed for creatures to cross the once impassible river. Prosperhill also encompasses many varieties of plants, such as striped bamboo and ginkgo trees, it is also shared with other animals that coexist with the pandas, such as the Southern Forest Troop. The Feast Clearing can be found in the center of the territory where the majority of the Prosperhills lounge and feast on bamboo.

Hierarchy[]

Like most panda groups, there is no ranking system or leader present. All pandas are on equal terms with other Prosperhills with the majority minding their own business.

After the arrival of Sunset Prosperhill, the Prosperhill Pandas look up to him as the unofficial leader due to his reputation as the Dragon Speaker. Second to Sunset ranks his inner circle of devoted followers including, Pebble, Blossom, Ghost, and Ginseng.

Following Dusks defeat, the triplets settle in the Prosperhill as the official Dragonspeakers.

After the Great Flood[]

After the Great Flood, the Prosperhills formed their group with the remaining survivors. For no more than a year, the Prosperhills lived in the lush bamboo forests of the Prosperhill. Despite their peaceful lives and sufficient food supply, many Prosperhills remain selfish and territorial due to their new experience of sharing and living in a group. The Prosperhills also believed that they were the last remaining survivors of the Great Flood. To solve their social problems, the Prosperhills hoped for the river to recede to distribute the Northern Forest's large territory.

Under Dusk's Impersonation[]

When Dusk came to join the Prosperhills while impersonating his Dragon Speaker brother, Sunset, he convinced the Prosperhills that there were other survivors of the flood and manipulated the Prosperhills into sending out a series of patrols to bring back refugees. As such, Dusk used the Prosperhills to find more pandas in hopes that he can find and eliminate the prophesized triplets from taking his position as Dragon Speaker. The Prosperhills remained swoon by Dusk and blindly catered and followed his every command. Dusk became an unofficial leader of the Prosperhill Pandas and formed an inner circle of loyal followers that would be willing to fulfill Dusk's orders through brutish means. His inner circle consists of Blossom, Ginseng, Pebble, and Ghost. Dusk also managed to turn the Prosperhills against Ghost as well as Rain and Peony. Various animals would come visit the Prosperhills to meet with Dusk, under the impression that he was Dragon Speaker Sunset, only to be quickly dismissed. Towards the end of Dusk's ruse, he managed to manipulate the Prosperhills to mobilize and search for the triplets.

Under the Three Speakers[]

Under the unofficial rule of the Three Speakers, Leaf, Rain, and Ghost, the Prosperhills led peaceful lives with the exception of increased turmoil due to the sheer size of the group. With the Hollowtrees living with the Prosperhills, squabbles over territory and space had increased. The Three Speakers decided to hold a public vote to determine whether to split the group or stay in one place. The outcome of the vote led to separation of the Prosperhills and Hollowtrees, where Rain would stay with the Prosperhills and be the Dragon Speaker for the Southern Forest, Leaf would leave with the Hollowtrees to be the Dragon Speaker for the Northern Forest, and Ghost alongside his sister Shiver would travel to the White Spine Mountains to be the Dragon Speaker there.

During the Attacks[]

After the separation of the Prosperhills and Hollowtrees, Rain leads the Prosperhills with ease until the snow leopard siblings, Sleet and Brisk, come to the Southern Forest. Ghost and Shiver track the leopards and fight them off, but a member of the Prosperhills, Pebble, is murdered. As none of the Prosperhills saw Sleet and Brisk, their distrust of Ghost and his bloody appearance lead them to believe that he had murdered Pebble. Rain, distraught by the death of Pebble, blames Ghost for failing to prevent Pebble's murder and exiles him from the Southern Forest.

Rain is later informed by Nimbletail that Pebble's murder was planned by Brawnshanks and that there is a traitor in the Prosperhill Pandas. As Rain investigates the matter in her group she confides in her mother, Peony, and partner, Lychee, about the situation as well as hides her Dragon Speaker stone for good measure. A series of attacks starts to occur, targeting victims such as Lychee and Goji. As the situation intensifies, Rain persuades Peony to leave for her protection, and then later disbands the Prosperhill Pandas.

With the Prosperhills disbanded, small groups of pandas start to form their own territories in the Southern Forest. Rain uses this opportunity to find the traitor by helping Pepper find a territory. As she sends Pepper to survey a piece of land, she spies from a bush and finds Blossom and Ginseng bullying him for bamboo and admitting to attacking Goji. Rain confronts them and asks why they killed Pebble, Blossom and Ginseng say that they were only responsible for the attack on Goji and nothing else, and that they saw Ghost kill Pebble. Using the information that Blossom and Ginseng gives, Rain decides to investigate the place of Pebble's murder. She finds white chalk and comes to the conclusion that the traitor impersonated Ghost. Knowing who the traitor is Rain confronts Lychee.

After the Cataclysm[]

Although the Prosperhills were disbanded some members joined the Dragon Speakers in their fight against Crookedclaw and they appear at the Dragon Speaker gathering at the Lake of Stars.

Alliances and Enemies[]

Sunset[]

After the Great Flood, many Prosperhills were hopeful that their Dragon Speaker Sunset had survived. There were also members that believed that he had died and that the Great Dragon did not warn him nor the pandas that the flood was to come, thus damaging their faith in the Dragon Speaker. Despite these rumors, Sunset is a revered figure that is fondly recognized by the Prosperhills.

Dusk[]

When Dusk arrived at the Prosperhill, he impersonated his Dragon Speaker brother, Sunset. The Prosperhills rejoiced and welcomed Dusk to join their group, making him their unofficial leader. Many Prosperhills were in awe with Dusk and followed his every order and believed everything he said. Dusk received the best treatment and ate the best bamboo, leading him to lead a lazy life at Prosperhill. He convinced the Prosperhill Pandas that the Great Dragon commands them to search for more missing pandas that have survived the Great Flood and to lead them back to the Prosperhill. Dusk commonly used cheap tricks to manipulate the Prosperhills into thinking that the Great Dragon communicated with him by predicting the obvious and pretending to have visions when looking into his speaker stone. Dusk formed his own inner circle of loyal followers that would carry out and enforce his orders. His inner circle consisted of Pebble, Ginseng, Blossom, and Ghost, in which they catered to his every need and bullied any critics. Dusk eventually manipulated the Prosperhills into thinking that Ghost was a bloodthirsty monster and that Rain and Peony were traitors that have gone insane. Towards the end of his ruse, Dusk mobilized the Prosperhill Pandas in order to confront the triplets and attempts to trick the Hollowtree Pandas into believing that Rain was a liar. Afterwards he was revealed to be a fraud and was ousted by the Prosperhills.

Rain[]

Rain was once a member of the Prosperhill Pandas where she led a playful cubhood tricking younger cubs into doing her chores by pretending to have visions from the Great Dragon. Her blunt nature and cynicism towards the existence of the Great Dragon made adult Prosperhills see her as a troublesome cub. After the arrival of Dusk, Rain was the only Prosperhill who doubted Dusk's claims of being the lost Dragon Speaker Sunset. In a private conversation between Dusk and Rain, Dusk shows Rain her reflection in the river and tries to trick her into thinking it is a vision from the Great Dragon. Rain reveals that she does not believe that Dusk is a Dragon Speaker which leads her to be attacked and thrown into the river by Dusk. Dusk convinces the Prosperhills that Rain died in an accident and the Prosperhills presume her dead.

When Rain returns to the Prosperhill Pandas, Dusk tells the Prosperhills that Rain is a traitor and that she faked her death in order to lie to the group. Rain alongside her mother, Peony, are then imprisoned by Dusk's inner circle. After escaping imprisonment, Dusk and his followers chase down Rain and Peony throughout the Bamboo Kingdom. Afterwards, Rain reveals to the Prosperhill Pandas that Dusk is not Sunset and that he murdered the real Dragon Speaker. Rain rejoins the Prosperhill Pandas after completing the Dragon Speaker ritual and has become their unofficial leader.

Broken Forest Troop[]

The Southern Forest Troop inhabits the Prosperhill territory alongside the pandas.

Ghost[]

Ghost joins the Prosperhill Pandas under Dusk's affirmation. It later becomes clear that the Prosperhill Pandas regard Ghost with uncertainty and fear due to his unusual fur and snow leopard origins and family. However, under Dusk's command the Prosperhills are forced to accept Ghost into their group. Despite being one of the Prosperhills, other group members stay away from Ghost with only Pepper and Pebble being the only ones interacting with him. Ghost is made into a member of Dusk's inner circle due to his naive nature of believing everything Dusk says, as well as his usefulness in being a strong brute trained to fight like a snow leopard.

With Ghost being regarded as dumber than the other inner circle members, Dusk entrusts more important tasks for him. When ordered to kill Pepper, Ghost tricks Dusk into believing that he had obeyed his order by smearing his own blood on his muzzle. With Ghost showing his bloodied muzzle to the Prosperhills and the sudden disappearance of Pepper, many Prosperhill Pandas start to despise Ghost and regard him as a bloodthirsty monster. Ghost is sent away by Dusk on a mission which is revealed to have been staged in order to kill Ghost.

When Dusk is revealed to be a fraud, Ghost rejoins the Prosperhill Pandas as one of their Dragon Speakers. Despite proving his innocence by showing that he spared Pepper, many Prosperhills continue to despise him. Ghost eventually leaves the Prosperhill Pandas to station himself in the White Spine Mountains as their Dragon Speaker. With the threat of Brisk and Sleet coming to the Prosperhill, Ghost races to the Southern Forest in order to fight the two leopards. After the bloody brawl, Brisk and Sleet leave the Southern Forest and Ghost is discovered by the Prosperhills. In the aftermath of Pebble's death, Blossom and Ginseng make snide remarks about Ghost potentially being Pebble's murderer. Rain blames Ghost for being unable to prevent Pebble's death and the Prosperhill Pandas chase him away.

Shiver[]

Plum[]

Plum's body was discovered by the Prosperhill Pandas and Dusk lies to them saying that a tiger attacked her. Many Prosperhills recognize Plum from before the Great Flood and were distraught that she had died. The Prosperhill Pandas also hold a vigil for Plum as she was respected by many.

Peony[]

Hollowtree Pandas[]

The Prosperhill Pandas are largely unaware of the existence of the Hollowtree Pandas. When Dusk mobilzed the Prosperhills to search for Rain and Peony, the Prosperhills confront the Hollowtree Pandas. Dusk tries to manipulate the Prosperhills into thinking that Rain and Peony have spread lies to this other group of pandas and tells the Hollowtrees that they should excuse whatever sickly lies Rain has told them. The Hollowtrees do not believe Dusk and stand firmly on Rain and Leaf's side. After Dusk is revealed to be a fraud and is exiled from the Prosperhill Pandas, the Hollowtrees join the Prosperhills and live together in the Southern Forest. Under the unofficial leadership of the triplets, it becomes clear that with the addition of the Hollowtrees to the Prosperhill ranks, that there were too many pandas living in one place. The Prosperhills hold a vote to see if the group should split once more, and the Hollowtree Pandas reform and leave the Southern Forest. As of then, relations between the Prosperhills and Hollowtrees have been peaceful.

Blossom & Ginseng[]

Despite supporting and aiding Dusk in their exile, Blossom and Ginseng were welcomed back to the Prosperhill Pandas.
